Two Tone is back...

The grown-out-roots look is becoming a bit of a trend amoungst A list celebrities and I have to say I am a massive fan.  For my next trip to the hair salon I know what my new style request will be; it’s so relaxed I love it!  I’m not one to sway once I’ve found the perfect hairstyle either. Contrasting ends with roots is being rocked by the likes of Lauren Conrad, Rachel Bilson and Cameron Diaz, what’s not to like about this effortless look.  It’s a cross between Debbie Harry in her Blondie years and Gisele’s soft, feminine trade mark style with a rock and roll edge.  So girls it’s time to experiment with your colour....

Talk to your face

So your fine one minute but throwing a spotty strop the next?
Conveniently planting themselves there before a big event or an important date may I add!

Breaking out in spots when you were in your high school years was distressing enough but at least all the other 15 year olds were in the same position.  Now you walk into university, work.... or that dreamy date, when all of a sudden, without no warning, Mount Everest has erupted right in the middle of your chin and all you want to do is curl up and hide away.

So you go into a state of panic wishing you hadn't neglected your 5-a-day, but all this is a little too late. Now we have to put our trust in "miracle creams" and teach those blasted blemishes a thing or two....

Stop that Spot!

♥ Clarins Blemish Control

Clarins Blemish Control is an SOS on-the-spot treatment for blemishes. The product contains two 5ml glass tubes with a handy roll on applicator, allowing you to accurately apply the clear liquid to the irritated area.  What I liked about Blemish Control was that it dries quickly and doesn’t leave a mark on the skin therefore it can be used under or over makeup.  Unlike a lot of products on the market today I found that Blemish Control is kind to your skin and doesn’t leave it dry.  This is probably due to its active natural ingredients such as:

 White Dead Nettle
Zinc
Gaultheria
Witch Hazel

+   Soothes redness, helps get rid of spots quicker, with 2 tubes it allows you to keep one at home and one in your bag or in your desk at work.
- Doesn't stop the spot from appearing, quite expensive.

RRP £22.50
Found the cheapest at www.lookfantastic.com for £12.80 with free UK shipping

My Verdict: 4/5

Clinique clear blemish gel
Clinique 15ml Anti-blemish solutions is again a clear blemish gel .  Usually I am a massive fan of all clinqiue skin care products with them being scientifically tested and 100% fragrance free, however, with this product I have to be honest, I wasn't entirely impressed. Yes it got to work straight away and dramatically reduced the blemish but that was after the stinging sensation and leaving the irritated and surrounding area dry.  Now I don't want to be putting myself through pain or the sake of a few blemishes!

+   Soothes redness, helps get rid of spot quicker, bottle lasts a long time, doesn't smell medicated.
- Stings, dries the skin and is visible even under makeup.

RRP £24.40
Found the cheapest at www.amazon.co.uk for £10.45

My Verdict: 3/5

Dr Organic Blemish Stick

100% organic...surely this has to be good to your skin? The results were fantastic! The clear liquid is a cool and refreshing solution which can be precisely applied to the blemish by a handy roller, drying quickly and leaving no mark.  The tea tree gets to work instantly, is kind to the skin and very fast working with the spot healed completely after just two days.

+   Gets rid of the spot completely after just two days, cheap, refreshing.
- None, its perfection in a bottle!

Found the cheapest at Holland and Barrett for £3.49

My Verdict: 5/5
